About The Project

Our clients wanted to update their kitchen, with their priorities being more usable storage and a free-flowing space to prepare meals as a family. After sitting down with them and learning what was important to them, we set out to design a kitchen that would check everything off their list off “wants”. We proposed a radical change that they wholeheartedly accepted after being walked-through the initial concept. We expanded the kitchen into the breakfast area, relocated the entryway into the back mudroom and opened up a wall to connect the dining room and kitchen. A rarely used patio door was replaced with a new window and we relocated the sink to the opposite side of the kitchen that allowed a view of the backyard. The expansion allowed us to double the size of their kitchen, adding an island, coffee bar and an entire wall of storage. Richly stained Shaker cabinetry and a natural palette were selected to convey warmth. When entertaining, the connection between the new kitchen and dining room now allows our clients to engage fully with their guests when hosting dinner parties.
